not sure whether this is the right forum to post this into but can anyone pint me to a list of (or suggest) examples of names for an in-house internet department.
we do all the usual stuff, publish, program, software dev., design, usability, site architecture etc.

A late response to a very simple question.... These ideas are not very inspiring, but they are well used:

    New Media
    Online
    Interactive
    Internet

    Is a department identity necessary?

Depends on whether you have an organisation that encourages 'sub brands', and if the possibility of your internal department pitching for external work is on the agenda?

If not, then Internal Agency should suffice.
