Has anybody got any expereince of displaying website KPIs to staff. Thinking of a fun cool way of focusing the company on a small number of KPIs such as # unique visitors,  average session time, registered users etc etc.

I have heard of a company called 3D Stats who seem to have a product that might do the job using a LCD TV to show live web stats etc  but also thinking of something in visual and attention grabbing in the reception area. Needs to be fun!!!

You might be able to export a report from your existing web stats package and import this into something else.  A Flash application could pull in data dynamically and this could be displayed on your intranet and also on a display screen.

However, this might depend upon where your website is located and how frequently/quickly you can export or download the source data.  But do make sure that your data is validated before you display it.  If you have a security breach, you might not want statistics relating to that appearing.

Similarly avoid displaying "top search terms" in case it encourages staff to spam the system!  Like the motorists who want to see their number plate on the speed warning display.  Also you might not want some (confidential) data appearing on a display in the reception area if this has public access.

I had a meeting with an online retailer yesterday who have LCD display's on the wall with real time revenue stats displayed. Not sure who provides the software etc but I think it's an absolutely excellent idea, reminds everyone what they are there for and fun to watch the counter going up! I'll PM you a contact.

A couple of good points there which I had considered - may be we'll look at developing an inhouse system we have plenty of Flash talent in the company.
