Hi Jim,
We use Synxis http://www.synxis.com/ for our clients to integrate into. You can view it working on one of our sites www.thequeensberry.co.uk
If you are looking for a custom solution for your client we also have our own modified booking system which can be tailored and is created using php.
Hope this helps, if you need any more help drop me an email or give me a call

Hi Jim,
With regard to using a hotel reservation system, I would say that you generally have 2 options:
1) hosted solution - you have no control over it and it comes with ongoing monthly feeds (and commissions to be paid in some cases). With this option the provider "has you by the balls" as they control everything.
2) custom-made solution - upfront cost but no ongoing monthly costs and no commission, and you also have control over the whole thing. The down side is that you have to carefully spec out the system to make sure it does exactly what you want.
Now, given the fact that we;re talking about a small hotel, I would suggest (1) if you are more interested in GDS representation, or (2) if you want lower costs within a 3-4 year period and control of the system
I hope this helps.

Jim,
Denis is right - you do have the option of building your own, but in our experience, small hotels don't have the investment to make into building their own solution. It's a BIG undertaking fin

On a related subject, can anyone recommend any worldwide hotel booking engines that can be plugged into a travel company's website in a branded manner? I know companies such as Expedia and booking.com work with partners/affiliates, but any other suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks. Mim
