    Thanks Ashley,

Am already using the site a lot for advice and downloading some of the contacts etc...to look for someone who might be willing to take on a Account Exec from Scratch! Hard when your in London, working, searching and trying to use inititave to find out all the different options.

I think you're right though, trying to get my current manager to allow me to play around with a PPC campaign at the moment. Like you say I think often doing it the hard way is often the best, but shows determination!

    regards,

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin

In that case, I would just do it for real for someone in your spare time. You must know someone who has a website, or wants one, and would take your help for free?

Then you can get a load of free help in various forums (like this, or Webmasterworld for SEO, A4uforum for affiliate marketing etc.) or invest a more modest sum and subscribe to our site to get our most excellent guides to best practice SEO etc... ;)

Then just do it and learn the hard way (but best way).

That's how I started - doing a site for my mother-in-law who is Headteacher of a school back in 1996...

Unsure if anyone has any advice. But I am currently looking for a start in the industry (SEM/Affiliate)and want to switch from Offline marketing. Have heard that some companies will train, so have begun to apply. However does anyone know of any courses that may be taken, that would be worthwhile for a beginner to show some real commitment and get a foot in?

    Thanks
