Further to the related thread about "how long to send 42,000 emails"..

I'm looking for a mailing solution that will, cost effectively, allow us to send

    1) all our customer ordering correspondence (we are getting a large amount of undelivered mail - and when this is order confirmations it creates havoc)
    2) marketing email (opt-ins) - probably 500,000-1m a month in HTML.

Currently we're using the solutions built onto our web front ends for the order confirmations, and Vertical Response for the marketing.  VR is proving expensive at over £1,000 per mailshot to our customer base of 250k.

we'll need to be able to prepare the communications away from this tool, and then pass them to the tool to do the sending.  the priority is that the emails arrive, and that we're not paying through the nose.

    Any ideas, solutions?

    Joe,

I have used a system called Concep Campaigner which I was very happy with and which would meet your needs.  Very flexible and very robust and some nice little add-ons for events and christmas cards.  Call Richard Hartshorne there on  0207 952 5598 or have a look at their site www.concepglobal.com  .

    Hi joem,

Your best bet would be to insource your emailing if at all possible. Keep in mind that taking control of your emarketing in-house requires maintaining your sending environment (hardware, up-time, blacklist monitoring, etc) but can still be more cost effective than outsourcing for the volume you're aiming towards.

Ensight can offer you a once-off license cost for our emarketing suite, with monthly support costs to monitor and maintain your server environment, that will surely be lower than the £1,000 per campaign you're currently paying.

    Kind regards
