    Hi,

We are in the process of re-developing our site and have huge amounts of content that we need to migrate to new a new URL structure.

Our site has got good search results rankings for a number of key phrases and we obviously do not want this migration to affect these positions.

Could anyone advise me of how best to go about this migration? We have been advised to implement 301 re-directs across all pages. Is this what others see as being best practice?

Help on this is much appreciated. Many thanks

    Jamie

301's work well and are search engine friendly.

How large is your website, and how well are the current pages found in the various search engines?  You may wish to implement a strategy so that you are not wasing your time with pointless redirects on low performing pages.
