Does anyone have any figures on users of the AvantGo service? How many, what sorts of people, when and how they use the services, most popular content channels, predicted uptake etc.
In terms of the type of service it provides the user, it's an interesting mixture of SMS meets WAP meets offline browsing etc. I suspect it's used most by commuters who read the news on their PDA on the way home, or perhaps when people are bored in meetings / conferences etc...
A brief look at the Developer section of the Avantgo site (http://avantgo.com/developer/ ) suggests that it is not that difficult to develpo an AvantGo service. Anyone done it? What are the costs? Development issues? Return on Investment?
Not something that I have looked into much but could be an interesting route to a particular (and potentially very valuable) market?
