I have been researching into procurement sites for the company i work for and i was wondering if anyone had any views on their relevency in todays online search based world?

At a time where search based results on the likes of Amazon and Ebay are becoming a shoppers best friend, are procurement sites really up to scratch to meet this requirement? Are they keeping up to speed with the constant evolution of search?

Is there any further research out there to indicate the rise or fall of procurement based purchasing?
