Hi, At what levels of traffic can one expect to chrage for advertising on a website? and how do advertsing rates scale up with traffic. thanks for all the help. sam

You can sell advertising via sites such as www.google.com/adsense and www.adbrite.com where there are no minimum requirements for traffic. You can also set your rate but one will be suggested to you based on market rates are.
You can also try and sell directly. If your site is particulary good / relevant / unique there will be interest. I have a site dedicated to Tablet PCs (in Italian) and was able to sell a few grands worth of advertising to Microsoft (at €10 CPM) when I traffic volumes were about 500 uniques a day. They bothered because they liked my site very much.

try online exchanges...easier to get in...right media exchange, adx...you won't get top $ for your imps but it'll let you get a feel for it.
