eTail Optimisation Specialist at Click Funnel Ltd
12 September 2005 08:13am
I'm wondering if anyone can help? We're looking to set up a new extranet for clients and occasional freelancers. Does anyone know of a good UK software solution that offers the flexibility to upload and change project documents and has basic project management capabilities?
Thanks in advance

Andrew have you considered Microsoft Sharepoint - it's out of the box technology and normally included in a windows server license. It's an excellent tool for document workflow for instance.
I've done several implementations myself and use it internally. I also know some some good people who develop bespoke sharepoint solutions.

I recommend www.basecamphq.com - we use it for our clients and they love it.

It's not a UK product, but Ace Project is a good online solution for managing projects. It can be purchased as a hosted product so there would be nothing to install. You can create user accounts and allocate them to staff, contractors and clients and you can create multiple projects and only allow the people you want to be able to access them. We use it to interact with our 3rd party contractors who develop our website, and to keep track of jobs within our own web team.

Hi Andrew,
Are you looking for a bespoke or out of the box option? We offer bespoke .Net development and have provided clients with collaborative extranets to communicate productively across sites, and with sub-contractors and freelancers in the past.
If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Hi Gillian,
To be honest we're a small agency so can't really afford the costs involved with bespoke development. Unles you can provide a pay as you go monthly solution with no upfront costs. But thanks for getting in touch anyway.

Hi Andrew,
A lot of our clients are sme's who find that our bespoke development option is actually more cost effective than an out of the box option (whislt also being specific to your needs).
We also can offer flexible payment terms.
If you would like me to arrange a member of our team to call you to discuss further, please let me know.
