Hi everyone, I am carrying out a research for Middlesex University on issues in E-commerce sites' purchase process. The issues can be usability issues or the cognitive issues which lead you to abandon the shopping process. I will be really grateful if you share your experiences on any e-commerce site which will help me to gather my initial data.
There's a whole load of excellent stuff in those reports on all the issues you mention - written by Mike Baxter (a former Professor of Design & Communication). In his early days he famously studied where pigs shit - clearly an ideal grounding for figuring out why people buy online (or not)...
Yes, I have read the report and it is very informative. But I would like to do my own research as well as available literature review. Thanks for the comment.
The Usability and User Experience Beginner's Guide aims to be the first step in a journey towards becoming an in-company expert in UX, which is central to the performance of your website. It is free to Bronze members and higher.
How We Shop in 2010: Habits and Motivations of Consumers is split into two separate documents for the US and UK, examining e-commerce consumer behavior in both countries. Both reports focus on how consumers interact with e-commerce brands, conduct product research and the different factors in the buying decision-making process.
