Was looking for advice as to where is the best place to advertise a Senior Developer role on the web.
Other than going down the agency route, what alternatives are out there, and has anyone had any success in advertising a developer role down an 'alternative' route?
Craigslist is worth a pop - I got a developer from there last year. Also try Gumtree, although it doesn't have such a techie crowd. Using sites like these you'll have to wade through a lot of irrelevant applications and inquiries from agencies. But that's recruitment in general really.
Thanks for that - Craigslist is a good idea. Wasn't sure of the quality of the responses, but it's good to see that you found a developer from there (or should that be a developer found you?). Can't do any harm posting it on Gumtree as well.
Try http://www.developerfusion.co.uk/ which have a few .NET listings. If you cannot find a candidate in time you may want to consider an interim placement. Give me a call if need be as we have a lot of .NET talent on our services team.
The State of Social Gaming infographic looks at the different types of companies across the social gaming landscape, including game developers, gaming analytics specialists, virtual currency and payment providers, and in-game advertisers, plus much more.
