Hello all, I am glad I came across this site, it has provided a lot of resources & info. To the point we have an upstart massive multi online role playing game which is rich with opportunities for advertising dollars.  However, we are running into problems making the "connect."  Does anyone have any suggestions on who to contact or how to go about getting advertising for such a forum?  Let me provide you with a quick run down first.

To summarize, we offer several interlaced avenues that can be used
for direct, and unavoidable, eye's on advertising within the virtual
game world.  We have a player base of 12,849 with a 24 hour cycle average of 800 users.  Our player numbers continue to grow on an average of 40 players per day.  We can easily track our player count and statistics.

The role play & combat system we developed presents one such avenue
where we can advertise.  When a player logs in a "message of the day" can easily plug an advertisers website.  In addition, our players have to create a character to play our game, then as they progress they achieve customizable levelsthrough experience points, as well as needing to refer to our wiki and
other information pages that are all web based.  This is an ideal
environment for banner ads, which has the added bonus of a single
player having to go to several web pages in a single session and
    return sessions are unavoidable.

In addition, to the above our game has a virtual world that the
players inhabit.  This aspect of the game allows for more traditional
advertising such as bill boards and product placement.   We are
developing our game as an interactive movie of sorts and so product placement is a natural venue for advertising.  Example, the player walks down
the "street," before him or her is a bill board or an advertiser's
product they can click on to receive information on the product and
open up a web page regarding purchasing it.  We also have the
capability to model, texture and program these objects in our game to
do just this type of advertising.

We also maintain our own internet radio station with streaming music
and even talk shows.  This is a relatively new service we are
offering, but is being well received and we fully expect its listener
base to rise.  Yet another "traditional" avenue of advertising.

Anyway, thanks all for taking the time to read all this. If you have any suggestions I would greately appreciate it. I am not afraid to admit that though I am capable I am currently out of depth when it comes to how to get advertising revenue.
