Hi Bob, I received a copy of this report and in my view it provides a good overview of the e-commerce suppliers (BT Fresca, previously Fresca being one included in the report). The information on each supplier is provided by the vendors themselves. So, it is dependent on the vendors providing honest answers to the questions. If you are interested in talking about your particular e-commerce interest, or would like to find out about our proposition, please feel free to drop me an email directly to:  gerry.partridge@fresca.co.uk. Regards Gerry

Bob, as Gerry says it provides a good overview of some of the suppliers out there. It is a good starting point for drawing up a shortlist of suppliers to consider, and may suggest some questions for them you wouldn't otherwise have asked.

But after reading it you're not going to know which single supplier you want to employ, because it's a general guide to the market, not a guide to the best supplier of e-commerce OR the best supplier of e-commerce for your business. So if you're after the answer to that question it's a useful starting point, but not the source of the definitive answer.

    Hi Bob,

A bit late to post I know, but I have read the last couple of e-commerce buyer's guides and found them pretty useful (I should disclose I work for an e-commerce solution vendor myself! www.bluetab.net). I think the guides are a great starting point to help you understand some of the vendors out there and equally importantly to help you think about what type of solution you are after - the reality is that there are lots of different ways of delivering e-commerce technology (e.g. standard hosted solutions, bespoke software or somewhere inbetween). The right solution will depend on your particular business and your requirements in areas such as IP, upfront vs ongoing cost, functionality, UI flexibility, etc. I'd be very happy to chat and try and give some unbiased advice if at all of interest (matthew.goodsall@bluetab.net).

    Best, Matt
