We are reviewing the application we use for email broadcasting.
Typically our clients will alread have their mailing list (as we tend to be targeting existing customers/contacts) and our agency is responsible for the copywriting and creative. So we're looking purely for a platform for broadcast and campaign reporting.
Numbers can be anywhere between 50,000 and 200,000 emails per month.
Any recommendations from other e-consultancy users would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Rob,
Great, I have the right system for you. You can find some general info at: http://www.naxtech.com/services.asp#emarketing2 but get in touch directly. I will create a demo account for you so that you can have a first-hand experience of how it all works and how great our system is.
It comes with an extensive knowledge-base with tips, and answers to many interesting questions: http://emarketingkb.naxtech.com/
I'm sure you will find the email platform interesting, especially as it contains some very cool features such as triggers, etc. Basically what that means is that you can do things like ..sending a special offer to someone on his birthday, and things like that. but get in touch and you can see yourself what our platform can do. ..oh, and did I mentioned it can handle millions of emails per day?!
regards,
Denis

We have used, and can recommend, http://www.isendhq.com
There is an element of bias as they are just up the road from us and we work quite closely with Itineris (parent company) but I can personally vouch for the fact that it is a very good platform and has an attractive pricing model.
More importantly, they are very good at helping out - fundamentally, it is a platform but you will get a lot of help and support from the team.

Try MailChimp or iContact. Two of the better web 2.0 oriented email service providers.
Both eminently usable at the level you describe and no doubt a fraction of the cost.

We have used a UK based product MailingManager with great success, I'd be a bit nervous about Mailchimp etc US products, if using towards a UK audience because of data protection act, you're not supposed to hold EU contacts outside the region without their full consent. Not a lawyer myself just advice we were given.... and anyway in these times, we need to support our local industry :-)
