    Hi

I am currently researching options for email marketing (for 40,000 or more contacts) however I am specifically looking for an application which allows us to control our database at our end -rather than the database being stored within the application.

Would anyone have any suggestions/recommendations?  Being not for profit we also need it to be cost effective.

    Many thanks!

    Hi,

What you are looking for is possible to do but have you considered the amount of work and investment required to integrate your local email-list and email marketing system?

It would actually probably cost more to do the integration of your email-list system to the email marketing system, compared to using the email marketing system.

..plus how can an email marketing system automatically manage the mailing list if it does not have it stored within its system somewhere?

    ..just some food for thought.

    regards,

    Denis

    Hi

We also had this very requirement and in the end we chose an application called Messagefocus from a companu called Adestra based in Oxford. Their application allows us to manage the data and lists.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

We are an agency that implement Messagefocus for our clients.

Messagefocus have a feature called Import/Export manager that allows the data from the application to be uploaded to your CRM system on a nightly basis.

I am in the process of setting this up for one of our existing clients.

Please get in touch should you require any further information.

    Regards,

    Richard

    Hi

Many systems will enable you to do this. Installed CRM solutions notably usually have email marketing built in.

However, depending on the circumstances, it is not always advisable to run emails through your own servers and you miss out on a lot of the deliverability work that is done by specialised email service providers (i.e making sure your email makes it to the inbox and lots and lots more).

Do drop me a note/give me a call if you'd like a quick chat about this. Happy to give you some pointers to help ensure you don't take any unnecessary risks. We work with other not for profits so have a good understanding of the types of issues you might be having.

    Hello,

As a desktop application you can use Group Mail Plus, as a web based solution you can use PHPlist which runs on linux servers. They are both good. We used PHPlist for 250.000 e-mails and it worked great.

    Good Luck...

    Hi,

I have an Email software that has served me well for years. It allows you to edit the database, has an tracking system and handles HTML. Great software.
