Just wanting to figure out some ballpark costs for the production of a dozen or so short (sub 5 min) online 'how to' videos.
How much would you expect to pay for a production company to produce, film and edit such a thing? (we would supply the experts/actors).
Also, any recommendations as to hosting online video. inhouse/own branded players vs free players (e.g. YouTube) - and the SEO benefits of hosting video via youtube etc.

Costs can very greatly depending on the amount of the so-called post-processing and effects you may want or need. ..and this is something which very much depends on the exact way that you want things to show/work in the video.
Hosting...I think that would depend on a) bandwidth, video format/quality and b) branding/marketing. Some choose YouTube because it's free. Some do not choose it because they do not want a "cheap/amateur" feel. Also, it would be a good idea to look at your hosts limitations in terms of bandwidth and video streaming capabilities, either directly from the web server or from a steaming-dedicated server.
