Our email marketing campaigns often have overlaps in the lists we send to. As a result there's a high likelihood that an email subscriber can get too many emails from my company. My team does their best to manage this through manual email list management.
Can anyone recommend an email marketing software/service that suppresses email mailings via rules/automation? Such as "do not send this group of users more than X number of emails/month based on these rules".
Mailchimp is (despite the name) one of the world leaders in email - and they have a nice 'groups' feature which lets you work with segments of lists and also send frequency.
I agree with Will that MailChimp may be a solution worth looking at for your issue. If you have developers, they may be able to create a custom implementation tied to your existing software using the MailChimp API:
