Digital Team at The Woodland Trust

Hi
We curently have a number of website that allow user generated content or the recording of survey information e.g www.ancient-tree-hunt.org.uk where the user has to register and log in to authenticate themselves with the website before they add content.
To do this at present we use a basic web based system we call "central registration" but we are currently writing specifications for a new system to replace it and do the same job.
But importantly the new system will be an integrated part of our new CRM system (Iris Care) and will make the whole process of registration and data capture a live and automated process with data transferring into the new CRM system.
I am looking to sense check our plans with suppliers who have deployed similar systems. There are a number of key features, facilities and functionalities for both the user interface and the technology deployment we are specifying, that we would like to gain advice on to ensure we follow best practice.
Happy to engage an appropriately skilled individuial or organisation in a small piece of specific consultancy as paid or best on charity voluntary basis.
Thanks
Jon Parsons
