Job Description
Our low-carbon energy solutions have already attracted some 5.5 million residential and business customers. But we know we can be the first choice of even more. That’s why we’re creating a brand new in-house digital team with the expertise – and the budgets – to boost our profile and our business.
About EDF Energy
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, itself one of Europe's largest energy groups, EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and its largest producer of low-carbon electricity. To put some numbers to those facts, we generate around one fifth of the nation’s electricity and employ some 15,000 people. What really sets us apart, however, is our fresh approach to the industry. Everything we do is underpinned by a clear customer focus and a drive towards sustainability. Because it’s these two factors, we believe, that will define the UK energy industry for generations to come.
About the role
We’re leading the way in sustainability, affordability and service. And by continually developing our website and increasing traffic to it, even more people will recognise how much we have to offer. You’ll play your part by taking charge of all our B2C Digital Analytics activity – and there’s much more to that than number-crunching. You’ll be responsible for the quality as well as the accuracy of reporting, and the feedback you’ll give the business will influence both our website and our choice of digital channels. You’ll have three important areas of focus. Firstly, you’ll create reports on commercial performance – using Google analytics and tracking tags to scrutinise everything from visitor numbers to customer spend and meter readings. Secondly, you’ll analyse those reports and generate valuable insights. Finally, based on your insights, you’ll recommend what we should do next. With you on board, we’ll continually improve the way we use data mining, customer segmentation and channels.
Candidate Requirements
About you
Probably working as a web analyst, either in an agency or client side, you’ll have relevant experience across all stages of the channel lifetime and in all areas of ecommerce, eservice and emarketing. You’ll understand both the theory and the practice of generating visits, converting visitors and retaining and developing customers. It’s a background that will have given you exposure to a major consumer ecommerce brand and sharpened your ability to think strategically. Just as importantly, it will prove you have a keen commercial mind. Possibly Google certified, you’ll definitely be confident and articulate enough to present Digital Analytics strategy at executive forums and to make any complexities straightforward and compelling.
