Job Description
Our low-carbon energy solutions have already attracted some 5.5 million residential and business customers. But we know we can be the first choice of even more. That’s why we’re creating a brand new in-house digital team with the expertise – and the budgets – to boost our profile and our business.
About EDF Energy
A wholly-owned subsidiary of the EDF Group, itself one of Europe's largest energy groups, EDF Energy is one of the UK’s largest energy companies and its largest producer of low-carbon electricity. To put some numbers to those facts, we generate around one fifth of the nation’s electricity and employ some 15,000 people. What really sets us apart, however, is our fresh approach to the industry. Everything we do is underpinned by a clear customer focus and a drive towards sustainability. Because it’s these two factors, we believe, that will define the UK energy industry for generations to come.
About the role
We’re leading the way in sustainability, affordability and service. And by continually developing our website and increasing traffic to it, even more people will recognise how much we have to offer. You’ll play your part by planning, delivering and measuring all our B2C Digital Propositions activity. Reporting to the Head of Digital, you’ll manage a five-strong team, inspiring them to generate the insights, content and creative ideas that drive profitability. Thanks to you, and your knowledge of customer segmentation, we’ll see a great return on our investment in marketing, sales, retention and customer development. It means working closely with different digital and marketing teams – including external digital partners – across everything from analytics and design to front-end development and digital campaigns. More than that though, it means collaborating with colleagues to shape our whole digital strategy. Specifically, you’ll make sure we base all our digital decisions on evidence, always follow best practice and constantly improve our channel planning, execution and reporting.
Candidate Requirements
About you
You’ll be our Digital Propositions expert. With a background in an ecommerce/Digital Propositions or an agency for a major consumer ecommerce brand, you’ll know how to generate visits and convert visitors. You’ll have a good mix of experience across all stages of the channel lifetime and all areas of web and creative reporting. Your record will show that you can manage projects and get the best out of a roster of digital agencies and IT suppliers. You’ll often be presenting strategy and results at executive forums, so a flair for putting your message across clearly and with conviction is vital too. Just as important though are plenty of commercial acumen, strong analytical skills and real leadership potential. Add a relevant professional qualification and you could soon be moving into – or stepping up to – a highly influential role in a critical revenue stream.
