Integrated marketing agency Kindred has appointed former MySpace marketing and communication manager Paul Armstrong as its first social media director.
He takes up the role after moving from California, where he most recently managed MySpace’s marketing and communications strategy. Prior to that he was an associate at Burston-Marsteller, looking after brand and digital strategy for Sony and Activision.
Armstrong’s role at Kindred – part of the Tribal Group with clients including Kia Motors and Lloyds Pharmacy – will involve integrating social media into the company’s PR, advertising and digital work.
Laura Oliphant, MD of Kindred, said, “The majority of our clients see social media as core to their campaigns as the lines between these disciplines increasingly blur. Paul is therefore a very exciting and strategically important hire for us.“
