Skype has launched a ten-day live video stream of a remote telephone box to show it is cheaper to use Skype to call landlines and mobiles.

In the experiment, created by The Viral Factory, ‘Wilderness Man’ Rob Cavazos will camp by a remote telephone box in southern Spain.

The number of the phone box will be posted on the website Phoneboxexperiment.com enabling anyone to call him and speak to him.

A live stream of the event will be on the website throughout the ten days as well as a link to the Skype application, which people can use to call the phone box. Users can also embed the live stream into their social networks.

A timelapse video will be created at the end of the event, while the website also hosts teaser introductory films about the experiment.
