AppNexus integration complete and new channels developed in time for the London Olympics
LONDON Hi-Media, the leading online premium advertising exchange in Europe, is growing its UK operations with the appointment of Nick Brown as Head of Operations. Reporting into Hi-Media UK’s Managing Director, Mathieu Roche, he will be responsible for managing relationships with the UK Publishers on Hi-Media’s advertising exchange. He is joined by Amandeep Shahpuri, from Real Networks, taking a role as Branding Display Account Manager working with advertisers and their agencies to maximise sponsorship and rich media placements with Hi-Media publishers and Andreea Samoilescu from Vibrant Media in New York, who is appointed as Performance Display Account Manager.
The appointments follow a reorganisation of the premium inventory available on the Hi-Media advertising exchange designed to offer improved reach and branding. Advertisers and their agencies can plan their marketing initiatives on channels including ‘London’, ‘Travel’ and ‘Sport, aggregating premium websites including The Football League, Visit London, DatingDirect and Thomas Cook. Data and targeting technology from Weborama can be used to enhance the audience segments available across the exchange. Hi-Media created the first premium online advertising exchange in Europe with AppNexus, offering over 20 billion impressions and 150million unique users per month available for agencies to bid on in real time.
Commenting on the appointments, Mathieu Roche, Managing Director, Hi-Media UK, explains, “We are seeing a lot of demand for our inventory in the run up to the London Olympics so we have organised it in a way that makes it easy to reach and target consumers with branding and direct response campaigns.”
Roche continues, “The joint venture between Hi-Media and Weborama has created new job opportunities for people in the UK with the right mix of technical and client services skills to deliver increasingly effective campaigns for both advertisers and publishers. Nick Brown has great expertise in managing large scale advertising operations and publisher relations, as well as previous in-house experience at an online publisher and first hand AppNexus expertise. Amandeep Shahpuri also has publisher experience and understands the best practice for combining creative assets with publisher inventory to maximise clients’ marketing budget whilst Andreea Samoilescu has many years of marketing experience including detailed international understanding of targeting. We plan to further grow the business as demand continues to rise in the UK.”
Nick Brown, Head of Operations, Hi-Media UK continues, “Throughout my career I have implemented various technologies across different online advertising networks and publishers. All of this expertise combines at Hi-Media where we can offer publishers a better service whilst agencies and advertisers can access an integrated technology, data and media platform to help them optimise their branding and performance investments.”
Nick Brown leaves a role as the Operations Director at Jemm Media where he worked with agencies, advertising networks and clients to deliver customised trading desk solutions. Prior to that he spent four years at Ad Pepper where his role as Business Operations and Development Director saw him manage online advertising operations, client services and implementation of new technology. He spent seven years at Hotcourses before that.
Amandeep Shahpuri will work with agencies to ensure brand activity - including sponsorship, rich media, video and site specific campaigns - delivers the optimum results for brands. This will involve strategies for improved use of data and targeting as well as rich media. He spent a year at Real Networks monetising traffic on Zylom, which followed four years at Connect Films Media, whilst studying for his MBA in London.
Andreea Samoilescu brings nine years of online marketing experience to her new position as Perfomance Display Account Manager working with advertisers and their agencies focussed on delivering performance on all campaigns. She is relocating from New York where she spent 18 months at Image Space Media, owned by Vibrant Media and 18 months at Tremor Media before that.
