Experian recently released a new infographic to highlight the best ways to use various social channels in your email and which ones get the most traction.

Though it's the newest platform, Pinterest appears to be a big winner. Those emails promoting it get higher open and click rates than those for Facebook and Twitter as well as getting 24.7% more unique clicks than other non-social-promotion emails.

A note on the emails FROM the 3 platforms: Pinterest have done well to capture the "discovery" element of the site with the "Pins you might like" emails. I open pretty much all of those. Twitter has followed suit. Personally the visual aspect of the Pinterest email makes scanning and find something I like quicker than reading through Twitter. Lazy I guess. Facebook emails I've binned as it adds no extra value having emailed what I'll probably see straight away when I log in.
