A study by mobile firm Motorola has found that almost half of European internet users are watching TV on the web.

The study found that 45% of European broadband users are already watching TV online, with the flexibility of internet TV being the main attraction.

  • French internet users watch the most TV online – 59% are doing so. Italian and British viewers come second and third respectively.
  • 57% of respondents want the ability to go online via the TV set during a live broadcast.
  • 35%  viewers want the ability to pause, fast forward or rewind live broadcasts.

The study looked at the behaviour of 2,500 broadband users in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
