E-consultancy’s first Digital Sail Regatta took place last week, with seven yachts and one rib commandeered by some of the UK internet industry’s saltiest dogs.

Conditions in The Solent were excellent for sailing and our teams undertook a safety briefing and practice session in the morning, followed by a swift lunch in Cowes, and then onto the main event in the afternoon: the race.

I’d like to be able to tell you that Team E-consultancy won but it didn’t. We came about fifth. A bit of a disgrace given that we were wearing appropriate hats at jaunty angles...

Our friends at Aqueduct bagged the trophy, kudos and glory. Not that we’re in any way bitter, but they had the best boat and Ellen Macarthur was at the helm, etc etc...

Defeated Admiral Ashley Friedlein presents the trophy:

Nope, that was me, and despite rumours to the contrary Drama really isn't me ; )
Drama didn't turn up, being from over the pond and all. Maybe next year. He'll be the one in a balaclava.
Cheers,

I had hoped to attend the Digital Sail event but fortunately I was not kept away from the sea - I was yachting on the Pelorus with Roman.
