E-consultancy shortlisted for award... woop!

Happy faces here at E-consultancy Towers (aka Lemon Studios) this morning following the news that we have been shortlisted in this year's AOP Awards.

We've been lucky enough to win two of these awards previously, and here's hoping we can add to our collection this year. Penguin suits at the ready!

E-consultancy is on the shortlist to pick up the 'Online Publisher - 2008' award in the business category, although we face some stiff competition.

There are five other publishers hoping to win in our category, including two serious heavyweights (DowJones and Reed Business Information), plus RICS, TSL Education and Wildfire Communications.

The AOPs honour the best online publishers each year and there are 16 awards up for grabs across consumer and business categories.

Reed Business Information is leading the pack in terms of the total number of awards it could bag, having been shortlisted for 12. IPC Media is up for nine awards, and Guardian Media Group is shortlisted for eight. The full list can be seen here.

Additionally, the AOP Digital Publishing Summit takes place before we all sit down for dinner on 1 October, when the winners will be announced.

Attendees to the summit will hear from Trinity Mirror's embattled CEO Sly Bailey, plus Stefano Maruzzi of CondeNet, author Clay Shirky and many other notables from the online publishing sector. Check out the full speaker line up to see further details about the event.
