As part of the social web movement, marketers are increasingly becoming publishers. There are few who are pouring as much into multimedia (i.e. video) web publishing as Wisconsin USA-based Drs. Fosters Smith.
This seasoned, catalog-based direct marketer is investing in their own staff, production facilities and syndicating widely, on the Web with www.peteducation.com, and on national cable television.
I sat down with their online chief, Gordon MaGee to understand how the company cost-justifies and measures its continued investment in online video.

Really interesting video and great to hear direct from the seller's themselves that video is adding value to their site whether to drive sales or to satisfy customer curiousity.
At vzaar.com, we host and stream video for businesses and whilst we started off as a plug-in for eBay, we were pleasantly surprised to see the greater demand from etailers asking to use video on their own site. The ambition of sellers and retailers to stream video content on their site is growing and growing and the emerging market for us lies in this profile of seller.
Infomercials, product guides, tutorials are all proving popular and whilst prodiuction remains a hurdle we continue to see sellers turning to video as an additional tactic in their sales process.
