I recently tried to answer the 'but what can we tweet about?' question for an online retailer by way of a list, entitled 'The 27 varieties of tweet used by online retailers'.

20 types of tweet used by online travel firms

A quick scan across the Twitter feeds managed by retailers proved that there's more to tweeting than simply pushing out deals and special offers. Examples of tweets included communicating website downtime, driving in-store visits, casting calls for TV ads as well as the more obvious coupons and time-limited offers.

So what would the average travel company tweet about? Again, there's huge scope for airlines, hotels and travel operators to use Twitter in a variety of ways, to boost engagement, satisfaction and sales. Let's now look at some examples...

I looked at fashion designers approach to Twitter only yesterday and produced a post revealing good and poor examples of Twitter use.

Some of these top brands really need to establish exactly what they are trying to achieve in these social arenas otherwise they ultimately fail miserably.

Twitter can be used for all types of services, such as promoting new deals, competitions and improve customer service but not all companies have grasped this concept yet, or at least performed them well.

My blog link below shows some of the top fashion brand fails and successes of present.....

I am usually a fan and early adopter of new technologies, especially the social and community applications. But, I simply could not see through the fog about Twitter. Didn't understand how it could benefit me.

Mostly people use Twitter for their busines. ink sharing is the most unique component on Twitter. Twitter is a micro blogging site which should be part of an overall marketing strategy that includes a blog with relative content, and a call to action.
