BT is close to a major content deal with Warner Brothers in advance of the launch of its combined television and broadband service, BT Vision.

The deal will allow users of BT Vision to access the Hollywood studio giant’s catalogue of movies and TV shows.

BT has already negotiated content deals with record companies EMI and Sony BMG to make music videos available on demand to its customers, as well as TV content deals with MTV, Paramount Comedy and Nickelodeon.

In addition, BT secured the rights in May, in a joint bid with BSkyB, to carry 242 'near-live' FA Premier League football matches per season from 2007.

The service will be the first of its kind in the UK, combining access to digital-terrestrial channels through the aerial with video on demand through broadband.

In addition to its freeview and on demand service, BT also offers a range of movies for download through its BT Vision Download Store.
