Vikki Chowney
Vikki Chowney is head of community at creative communications agency TMW. She's a former journalist, most recently as news editor for Econsultancy.
Prior to that she was content editor for the JaguarFuture.com project, created by Jaguar to tell the stories behind the C-X16 concept car.
From 2009 - 2011 Vikki was editor of Reputation Online, a sister title to new media age at Centaur Media that presented both editorial and user-generated coverage of the digital PR landscape. During her time there she penned a weekly column for NMA on the same topic.
She helped to co-found The Really Mobile Project, contributing to the site regularly during its early life - and penned a monthly column for Communicate magazine throughout 2011.
She was part of the founding team of writers for BitchBuzz.com, an independent women’s lifestyle network with readers spread across the US & UK.
A G20Voice blogger for Oxfam at the London and Pittsburgh Summits in 2009, her work has featured in The Guardian, Mobile Industry Review, within Marketing Week and many others.
Vikki has also provided freelance consultancy to the likes of Vodafone, O2, Talk Talk and Big Yellow Self Storage.
In a previous life Vikki worked in PR, specialising in digital and social media for clients including Acceleration, ZYB, Skype and Vodafone.

UK-based buying club Keynoir has been acquired by Time Out for an undisclosed fee.
Time Out says that this is just one in a range of product-specific acquisitions that will boost its foothold in the recommendations and booking market.

Comparison site Moneysupermarket.com has launched a car insurance comparison app for the iPhone as part of a three-stage mobile strategy that covers communications, internet and commerce.
Working with mobile experts Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), the company has been rolling out updates for the past few months.

Hunch’s predictive technology makes customised recommendations to users based on their individual tastes using a “taste graph”.

Much-loved TV show Arrested Development is to release new episodes of the sitcom exclusively via Netflix in early 2013.
The online TV and film streaming service has signed a deal with Fox and Imagine Television that will see episodes developed especially for subscribers in the US.

Moët Hennessy-owned Belvedere Vodka has teamed up with the charity (RED) to launch a social media campaign that aims to raise AIDS awareness.
Launched on Friday by digital agency Essence, it targets Belvedere’s consumers by encouraging them to 'donate' their Facebook status and/or a tweet to the cause.

Nearly 300,000 people in the UK went online for the first time during Q3 of 2011, according to figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
This takes the total number of adults who have been online at least once to 41.6m, equating to over 83% of the population.

Social platform Google+ has scored its third highest week of visits launching in June, according to statistics from Experian Hitwise.
6.8m people in the US visited in the week ending November 12, a 5% increase compared to the week before and a 25% increase compared to a month ago.

User-generated reviews giant Yelp has joined the stock market goldrush by filing an initial public offering (IPO) of up to $100m in shares.
Since rejecting a reported $500m acquisition offer from Google in 2010, the company has apparently been preparing for this move, which could value the company at over $2b.

Digital titles are on course to outnumber print in the customer publishing industry by 2013, according to new research from Mintel and the Association of Publishing Agencies (APA).
This prediction is based on the number of titles implementing this channel, but despite its decline over the past few years (90% share in 2005 down to 52% in 2011) - print still maintains a majority share for this year.
