A battle is looming between online exchanges for display ads, and Right Media CEO Mike Walrath will be in the thick of it.
Launched in April 2005, the Right Media exchange acts as a stock market for publishers, networks and advertisers, and claims to have more than 20,000 buyers and sellers using the platform a day.
Here, we ask Mike about the benefits of the exchange model, his company’s recent $680m purchase by Yahoo! and how he plans to face up to Google when it enters the space.

eBay drop shop brand Auctioning4u has bought the assets of iSold It UK, a rival chain that went into administration last month.
The move will see iSold It UK's shops moving over to the Auctioning4u network, boosting the company's plan to increase the number of its drop off locations around the UK.

US online shopping gateway Mpire has launched a number of widgets designed to generate revenue for Amazon and eBay affiliates.
The widgets, when displayed on a user's web page, chart trends across a range of retail product categories, each allowing site visitors to make a purchase that is linked to a publisher's affiliate account.

Auction site eBay is reportedly close to concluding a deal to buy StumbleUpon, a browsing application which helps users discover new sites.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the deal will be worth around $75m (£37.6m), though completion may take a few weeks yet. A similar rumour was reported back in April.

Yahoo! is to close its auctions website this summer in the face of eBay's overwhelming market dominance.
Yahoo! Auctions will be shut down in the US and Canada from June, but sites in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore will remain.

While people queued for up to eight hours outside Topshop's Oxford Street store to be the first to get hold of the new clothing range designed by Kate Moss, Topshop's website experienced similar demand.
The Topshop site, which starting selling the Kate Moss collection online from 4am yesterday, reportedly sold out of the range within 12 hours, and UK visits to the Topshop website have doubled over the last two days.

eBay has launched a Flash widget applet that allows sellers to embed their auctions on sites around the web.
The auction site has billed the move as "a fun and easy way for you to share the interesting things you've discovered on eBay and personalise your blog, social networking page or website".

StumbleUpon, a browsing application which recommends websites to its users, is rumoured to be an acquisition target for online auction behemoth eBay.
According to TechCrunch, an unnamed source says that StumbleUpon will be acquired for between $40m and $75m (£20m-£37m).

A new study by Nielsen/NetRatings examines the top UK websites using three different metrics - page impressions, visitors, and time spent. It concludes that the page view is becoming less relevant, a mantra we're hearing increasingly often.
The report argues that the growth of Web 2.0 sites, and the different ways that users are interacting with social media means that advertisers are looking beyond the page impression as a way to measure user behaviour.

The future of Online Revolution, the UK franchiser of eBay drop shop brand iSold It, appears to be in the balance amid reports that it has gone into receivership.
The company is refusing to comment on its future, referring enquiries instead to accountants BDO Stoy Hayward.
