British ad giant WPP has announced the acquisition of internet ad company 24/7 Real Media for a whopping $649m (£329m).
The move is the latest in a flurry of mergers in the online ad market following the Google/DoubleClick deal.

There is no simple answer - send emails too often and you risk annoying the customers so much that they unsubscribe; not often enough and you run the risk that they will forget they signed up in the first place.

AOL has announced the purchase of Adtech AG, an online ad company based in Germany.
The news come just a day after AOL purchased mobile advertising company Third Screen Media - both companies will operate within AOL's Advertising.com business.

The UK's bingo players are up in arms over the imminent smoking ban, and the smokers amongst them have said they will visit bingo clubs less often, and spend more time online.
St Minver, which operates the world's largest bingo network, has carried out a survey of 3,000 UK bingo players to find out their attitudes towards the ban, which comes into effect from 1st July.

Amazon has confirmed plans to open a music download store later this year, offering all songs free of DRM copyright protection.
The much-anticipated move will see Amazon offering music from EMI, which recently cut a deal with Apple to sell its music DRM-free through the iTunes store.

New stats from Hitwise show that over 55s, or ‘silver surfers’, are close to becoming the largest demographic age group online.
The largest is currently the 35-44 age group, which accounted for 23.5% of internet visits in the four weeks up to 12th May. Silver surfers had 22% of visits.
