Vodafone is to partner with Google to provide a version of Google Maps for users of its mobile phones.
Vodafone said it will, in conjunction with Google Maps, provide easy-to-use maps and local listings, as well as local search and navigation capabilities.

Virgin chairman Richard Branson yesterday announced plans for an iTunes style service for downloading PC games, to be introduced later this year.
The service, which will be called A World of My Own (AWOMO), is a joint project between Virgin Games and Game Domain International.

Thomas Cook has bought package holiday firm MyTravel, creating the second largest package holiday firm in Europe, with combined annual revenues of £8bn.
The travel group, which will be based in the UK, will be 52% owned by KarstadtQuelle, the German retailer that owns Thomas Cook, and will trade under that name.

Posting phoney reviews on sites such as Amazon and Tripadvisor could soon land you in court, according to this article in The Times
over the weekend.
The paper says firms could be ‘named and shamed’ or even prosecuted when a European directive banning them from "falsely representing oneself as a consumer" comes into force in the UK at the end of this year.

Yahoo! has extended its mobile display advertising system to 18 countries outside the US, as well as announcing a number of deals with advertisers to target mobile web users.
The company said brands including Hilton's Embassy Suites, Intel, Nissan, Pepsi and Singapore Airlines had committed to buying ads on its mobile internet service.
