About Me
Online since 1985 when I helped launch the world's first online bank (when working in-house at Bank of Scotland). I have been online ever since.
Founded PHPR as a freelance operation in 1986 and incorporated as PHPR Ltd in 1999.
I am continually learning, never know it all and probably never will. My experience as an editor, journalist and PR practitioner means I do understanding effective communication and have a huge respect for preserving reputation above all the SEO tom-foolery that can destroy years of hard-won trust in minutes.
I focus on using good quality content, well-placed and well optimised, but not over-optimised.
I look at the whole picture: sales, marketing and PR, on and offline because your customers and key influencers are also on and offline. They don't differentiate between sales, marketing and PR in their customer experience, so I look at creating and mainstaining a cogent stream of communications to steadily enhance the business profile in the media and online.
