About Me
Andrew Keyes has dedicated his career to the art and science of effective communication. Andrew’s diverse body of work has received international recognition including top honours for advertising and design. His approach to developing any project, whether it be an advertising campaign or an e-commerce web site is firmly rooted in a deep respect for the needs and the motivation of the target audience.
In 1996 Andrew joined the internationally recognized interactive media firm Mackerel Inc. as Vice President, Digital Marketing. His first assignment was to lead the development of the Consumers Distributing online catalogue project – a project that was the first of its size and scope in Canadian retailing. Later that same year Andrew lead the development of numerous other international projects including Gateway to Diversity (a landmark Government of Ontario initiative that won the coveted 'Amethyst' award for outstanding public service), the re-design of CanadaTrust.com, and the online advertising launch of Canada Trust’s EasyWeb.
Andrew is President of Armantus Inc., an online advertising agency he founded in 1997. Armantus was named one of the Top 100 International Interactive Agencies and was among the first agencies in Canada to receive recognition for online advertising at the prestigious Marketing Awards. Armantus would go on to win Gold awards for best ecommerce site design in two consecutive years – a feat that has not been matched since.
Andrew has been providing online strategic guidance for clients for more than 15 years. Most recently he prepared a comprehensive strategic online marketing plan for Cadillac Fairview, which included an overview of which tactics represented the best fit for Cadillac Fairview and included recommendations on how the tactics should be functionally managed. Andrew is a co-founder AIMS, the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales, which has provided a forum for Canadian decision makers to learn, share and contribute to the understanding of best practices and emerging trends within the Internet marketing and sales field. Andrew has sat as a judge on the Design Exchange/Financial Post Design Effectiveness Awards, ‘Strategy Magazine Direct + Interactive’ Top 10 Interactive Campaign Awards, the Flash in the Can Awards, and served on the Industry Advisory Board of the Liberty Village New Media Centre.
