About Me

David Wallace (Strategy Point) is a marketing strategy consultant who works across sectors, offering a range of marketing and business development services.  He has recently consulted on the planning, development and execution of marketing strategies in the hotels and restaurants, retailing, recruitment consultancy, property, town planning, design, legal, management consulting, and tourism sectors.

 

David started his career in 1987 as a business strategy consultant in London advising clients in the UK and abroad in a wide range of sectors (such as retailing, aviation, financial services, leisure and fast-moving consumer goods), then moved in-house to Sony Corporation in Germany (where he co-ordinated the establishment of sales companies throughout Eastern Europe and Russia, helping business in the region grow from $100m to $1bn sales in just a few years), the Royal Bank of Scotland (where he focused on developing corporate banking business) and finally law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn (where, as marketing director, he created a marketing function that became recognised as one of the best in the UK).  He set up Strategy Point in 2006 to provide strategic, pragmatic business advice, primarily to SMEs.

Education and Qualifications

David has a track record that includes several awards for excellence in developing and implementing marketing strategy, including being voted UK Marketing Director of the Year while in his last in-house post.  With an MBA from the world class London Business School, he is able to take a broad business perspective and draw not only on knowledge of marketing, but also of other disciplines.  He also has an MA (Hons) degree in French and German from Glasgow University, and is a Marketing Society Business Leader and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
