Although I've an unashamed background in computer science and software engineering, I've slowly crossed the divide between 'technology' and 'marketing'. I now bridge the two or, sometimes, hop madly between them. I guess I'm half digital planner, half account director, and half technical director, and if you've noticed that adds up to 1.5 that is because I'm generally speaking 50% more of a handful than most sensible people can tolerate.
Most recently I've joined the splendid people at Other as their Director of Digital, and I'll doubtless update this little bio in the months and years ahead with my achievements there. It's a forty-strong agency in Clerkenwell that is going places - fast. I'm working across pretty much all the agency's accounts as a digital strategy expert, including RBS/Natwest Corporate and Retail and Unilever.
My previous experience includes the launch (with one David Jones) and eventual sale to Bell of digital agency Galileo, securing MTV, HarperCollins, Telegraph Media Group, eBay, Gumtree.com, The Daily Mail as clients in the process, launching relationship marketing agency HS&P's eminently successful digital function as Head of Digital, acting as interim Director of Technology at top ten digital agency Dare, growing Cleara's digital division from the ground up, launching the technical operations function of promotional space sales agency Brandspace, starting and growing my own digital production studio and running the consumer digital media team of a major nightclub and bar operator.
I've also written my share of books and articles, and been published in the advertising and PR trade press on numerous occasions, as well as having spoken at the IPA and BAFTA.
