About Me
HAARIS SHEIKH is Managing Director of Interesource Group (Ireland) Limited. He lectures on an invited basis in Human Resource Information Systems and also Personnel Management Practice with the Department of Personnel and Employment Relations at the Kemmy Business School, which is a designated Centre of Excellence of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. His research interests include recruitment and selection, Human Resource Information Systems and the Use of Languages for Exporting purposes. He is a Scholar of the Irish American Partnership and is currently completing a Masters Degree in Business Studies on the topic of Recruitment Strategies in the Irish Hotel Sector. Some of his current consulting roles include: Project Chairperson, MORPH, STREAM and FOSTER. Project Director INTERCOMM, Project Director, ELISE and also REFLECT for which he was also the Technical Director (All funded by the European Commission under the Leonardo da Vinci Programme). Some of his other roles include: Senior HR Consultant, Castle Oaks Catering Limited; Management Development Training Facilitator, DELL Computer Corporation; AIB Capital Markets; HR Consultant, Jewel Art & Co. Limited; Consultant in Statistical Analysis to the Vice President, Research and Graduate Studies, Consultant to the Dean, Centre for Teaching & Learning, University of Limerick; Other former roles have included: Recruitment Manager for Premiere Yachts Inc, in Boston, Chicago & Washington DC; HR Consultant, Ogham Design Limited; HRIS Consultant for Krups Engineering, Limerick; Information Systems and Database Consultant for the Assistant Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Dean of Research, University of Limerick, IT Consultant for the Vice President (University of Limerick)/Dean, College of Business. He formerly served as the Internet Editor for the Journal of European Industrial Training, The Journal of Industrial and Commercial Training and The International Journal of the Learning Organisation, He has published a number of editorials on Internet related aspects. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, the Institute of Directors in Ireland and the Industrial Relations Research Association. He has published and presented widely in Ireland, Europe, USA and Asia. He has been the recipient of several research awards: 1995 - Irish American Partnership Scholarship; 1996 - Research Seed Funding Award, Awarded by the Office of the Dean, Research, University of Limerick for a study on Recruitment Practices in Ireland; 1997 - University of Limerick Foundation Seed Fund, Awarded by the University of Limerick Foundation for a study on Recruitment Practices of Greenfield Site Companies in Ireland; 1998 - Research Seed Funding Award, Awarded by the Office of the Dean, Research, University of Limerick for a study on Language Strategies of Exporting Companies in Ireland. He has been recently invited by the European Commission to sit as an Expert in the area of Innovative and Sustainable Partnerships.
