Since the early 1990s Maggie Humphreys and Les Snowdon have been at the forefront of initiatives to promote the benefits of walking for fitness, weight-loss and long-term health. Their books have been international bestsellers and they have been interviewed and featured more than 200 times in the press, in magazines, and on radio and TV. Check out Step it Out, The Walking Diet, Walk Slim, Fitness Walking, Walk Aerobics, and The Rhythm for Life - the ultimate guides to fitness walking, healthy eating and stress-free living.
Their website - walking.org - is the complete resource for walking, health and diet. We plan over the next few years to make this one of the biggest sites for walking on the web, with a large number of walking holidays currently being added to the site.
Maggie and Les have been enthusiastic walkers since childhood. They believe that walking is the best exercise because it’s accessible to just about anyone - and anyone can begin getting fit and healthy simply by walking out of their own front door. They are also the co-creators and authors of the innovation award-winning website Ed’s Reading Room - edontheweb.com. This is a free online reading club for 5 to 11 year olds featuring recently published books and fun literacy activities to excite and stimulate children’s imagination and help improve reading skills.
