Long term strategy and day-to-day planning of all content and community initiatives on vtravelled.com, Virgin Atlantic's new travel website. Implement and manage the content strategy for vtravelled.com and the vtravelled blog. Produce all content, both in-house and via commissioning. Manage our community and social spaces, and actively monitor and participate in all social media engagement. Manage small editorial team.

Digital Content Editor at Virgin Digital

Virgin Digital was a web-based music downloading service, owned by Virgin Megastores. I was with the company from its inception in 2005 and worked as part of the small team that launched the initial service in September of that year, with overall responsibility for all editorial content within the service (reviews, artist profiles, interviews, playlists, blogs, etc.) I was also heavily involved in the 2006 redesign of the site with regards to IA and wireframing, usability, and development of the content management system. After the management buyout of Virgin Megastores in September 2007, the site was unfortunately closed by its new owners.

Virgin Megastores was one of the most prominent and popular retail chains in the country. Starting as an Assistant Buyer in Jan 1997 and becoming a Product Manager in March 1999, I worked within a small team at head office, and was responsible for a £19 million annual stock budget, buying and marketing entertainment products for the entire UK and Ireland chain.
