Digital Marketing Pioneer and Strategist
I am a seasoned interactive development and digital strategy consultant with proven experience in online marketing and website development for healthcare, consumer products, B2B and non-profit organizations. I co-founded Strategic Domain, a leading digital marketing and Web development agency, in 1998. My work has earned over 48 top industry awards over the last 12 years including the Grand Global in Consumer Communications. I led and managed efforts for clients like Benjamin Moore, J&J, Novartis, sanofi-aventis, Endo, Pfizer, Roche and Merck to plan and implement websites and portals, online advertising, SEO, email programs, e-learning and digital promotion.
As the EVP, general manager at K2 Design, I managed the first publicly held interactive agency by leading digital strategy, client services and business development. In addition to developing original online advertising tools and one of the first media networks, , we created the first web analytics department and the first search engine optimization group for agencies. Our work for clients like AOL, AT&T, Verizon, HP, Microsoft, Bell Labs, ToysRUS, Roche, Bayer, Chase and many other top companies covered the range of activities including website development and advertising. Our online media planning and placement created new standards in ROI.
My technical background started at Bozell Worldwide/Poppe advertising. As the account manager responsible for the AT&T account, the agency selected me to lead its effort to establish agency leadership in technology advertising. My success at AT&T brought additional account assignments including the launch of AT&T’s Bell Lab’s software to business. Leading the effort to launch UNIX, I directed the efforts to build awareness and acceptance from business leaders for the new distributed computing software platform. These were the go-go days of the Internet and we had multiple offices working across the globe.
As computer networking expanded, the Internet emerged as a real commercial opportunity and the agency added Silicon Graphics, Toshiba and Netscape to its client roster. I became a key player in the evolution of the advertising business and the emergence of a new digital agency, Poppe.com. Again, AT&T played a key role in the expansion by providing one the first ecommerce systems and hosting platforms for rapidly growing efforts from Chrysler/Jeep and IBM. I helped to establish the first Media and Technology agency group in the industry. This effort brought together cable and broadcast television and print media with emerging technology.
Earlier agency assignments included work on McDonalds, my first National Addy for Big Mac insert and Paramount Pictures.
