My expertise is in media and marketing strategy development. My background in media research, planning and buying was enhanced by a pioneer entry into digital media in the mid- 1990’s. This robust experience enables me to offer marketers, media and technology companies a unique cross-platform perspective.
Trained in traditional media at a variety of NYC full-service advertising agencies, the bulk of my career was at Horizon Media, the largest independent media services company in the US. In a variety of leadership and business development roles there, I helped grow the company’s billings to over $2 billion from $60mm when I joined, building and managing three of the company’s divisions – Planning, Out of Home and most recently Digital; expanding company capabilities, offerings and client activity in all these areas.
I have experience collaborating with all members of the marketing ecosystem -- internal teams, clients and their creative, promotional and PR agencies, and a myriad of technology and research partners. My dedication to client service is paramount to my reputation as a passionate, innovative and resourceful marketing expert.
My innate sense of curiosity made me an early adopter; being mesmerized in the mid- 1990’s by the advent of technology and the impact it was sure to have on media and marketing. In an evangelist role I migrated colleagues and clients into digital and cross-platform initiatives, running \ training programs to educate them on digital marketing strategies and best practices. My fascination was bolstered by every new technology’s potential impact on transforming the brand/consumer relationship. Working with clients like A&E, History, Geico, Ace Hardware, Bank of Montreal, IKEA, Jack in the Box and countless others, I led the shift into online, broadband video, mobile, digital out-of-home and social media.
Continually considering the impact technology developments and changes in consumer habits can have on marketing programs and what brands today need to achieve, my open-door policy to innovative individuals or companies spurs me to investigate, introduce and test groundbreaking and game-changing opportunities.
I am a member of AWNY (Advertising Women of NY) and was named AWNY “Working Mother of the Year” in 2008. I served as a mentor in the AWNY Mentoring Program in 2009 and 2010 and was a founding member of Nielsen’s A2/M2 Television/Internet Convergence Committee. I am also a member of a variety of other industry professional organizations and am a mentor for the PresenTense Group, an organization offering resources and connections that engage and inspire creative young minds of our generation, investing in their ideas and energy to revitalize their community. I also recently became a pro-bono consultant for The Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society.
