About Me

I started in digital as a self taught web designer and Flash programmer in 1998.

After building a full e-commerce website - www.sheridan-designs.co.uk - I landed a job as employee number 4 at Spannerworks.

We were then a web shop with a part time (dread-lock) student running a fledgling SEO sideline.

When the bubble burst first time round (just after boo.com launched!) we decided to specialise in SEO and PPC. I joined the dark side as an analyst and account manager, and along with one other guy managaed half of a portfolio of 120 clients.

I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and returned to Spannerworks having been inspired to write the job description for their first ever Account Director, a position that I moved into.

Spannerworks grew to become iCrossing and became full service. The company quickly realised that they needed a Knowledge Manager to tie everything together, so I switched roles again and started initiatives for knowledge sharing.

After 3 rounds of redundancies I moved on to start my own consultancy ThinkSearch.

My path crossed with Freshegg where I developed my SEO skills even further doing a years worth of strategy and consultancy work for national and internatinal clients.

Following this I had a 6 month spell as Director of Strategy at Cubeworks the user centred web design experts in Brighton looking at growth opportunities for their existing client base. I continue to work with Cubeworks but now as a freelance Search & Social Media Consultant.

Currently I am maintaining a healthy work life balance working with Adam Lee at No Pork Pies three days a week and freeleancing in-between this and looking after my 6 month old daughter :)
