I'd like to set up a microsite that allows clients to generate a PDF brochure from a series of predefined PDF pages. Clients would select products or services my company provides via a normal 'tick-box' driven webform. This would then stitch together a PDF brochure containing pages only applicable to the options chosen by the client and excluding those
i.e. if they tick that they want a brochure containing 'Construction', 'Marine', and 'Real estate' products - a PDF brochure would be generated containing these brochure pages but no pages in the areas they didn't select. Hopefully that makes sense.
Does anyone know of any tools that do this (adobe or otherwise) or know of any sites that do it well? What are the alternatives?

I am not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for but we use a company called z-mags to provide our online publishing of brochures.
If you have a look at the link i've posted below you will see there are 4 icons in the bottom right hand corner, clicking on the print one allows you to select the pages you want printed into a pdf document.

We've used PDF Lib http://www.pdflib.com/ to do exactly what you're asking for a number of our clients.

Hi Chris,
There are various PDF utilities which can help you achieve what you mentioned. PDFlib, mentioned by James, is one of them. Others are ActvePDF, NovaPDF, EasyPDF and more.

Chris,
Have you considered taking it a step further and going down a "single source" publishing route where all the content is in a CMS with web pages and your pdfs (RSS feeds, etc) built on the fly as per the visitor's choices. A change in your content is then reflected immediately in the published docs meaning no redundant, out of date pdfs and the benefit of all the tools within the CMS (workflow, publishing dates, security, etc). We also have a tool for using InDesign to format the pdfs whilst still holding content in the CMS (if InDesign is your tool of choice).
