    Hi,

    I am trying to decide whether or not to advertise on Facebook, I am worried that there could be a backlash for invading perceived personal space. Being an avid facebook user and seeing it as a great personel tool for social networking I am finding the ads not relevant and obtrusive I have also been reading many posts of people feeling the same way, so I am worried that acutally this could do more harm than good.

    Has anyone had any success (good roi) with advertising on facebook.

    On a side note has ANY brand had a sucessfull campaign of using facebook? who it doing it the best?

    I'm not convinced it's the "ideal" place to put CPC ads on if you're looking for a good ROI ....... after all people are typically using Facebook for hooking up with friends / old acquaintancies (or "throwing sheep" at people or other similar strange activities !)  Don't necessarily think that people would / do find them intrusive .... just maybe that they are not in the mindset to be buying etc?

    Facebook has the interesting demographics slant on things though.  For example, I've tried Facebook Ads for "anyone who supports Liverpool FC" and deeplinked them into Liverpool shirts section on Kitbag.com for example.  Had mixed results.

    I can sort of see where the benefits could possibly be for branding purposes .... but not convinced.  I suppose I'm sitting on the fence about Facebook ads for now.

    Google PPC on the flip side is good because people are actively searching for things.  That's why the ROI is typically good.
