Please can you help me? I'm trying to make a website more visibile through a variety of social media channels. I'm thinking of adding a bookmark share to the homepage of the website? Do you know any websites which do this? I'm assuming like blogs you can add this to your websites. How effective is this?
Your help is most welcome.
Thanks!

Hi
Adding a bookmarking widget is not very complicated, these days people tend to add Facebook, MySpace and Twitter buttons more often. Then there is the traditional share widget used to share useful information with digg and alikes.
You can get your own button (bottom of the page) at www.addthis.com.

Hey Anon,
As Faisal mentioned it is very very easy to add this to your homepage. I think the big question you need to ask is in what situation would someone ever want to share your homepage?
Generally homepages do not have any content on them worth sharing. Homepages usually link to other content which may be of interest. There are many ways to increase your website visibility using social media but a lot of people I have spoken to have made the mistake of using all the social media tools (such as share buttons) but totally forgotten the customer.
What you need to answer is not, what tools can we use but more "How do we make our website and the content on it relevant to the social media world." Once you have answered this you can start to plug into the various social networks.
I know this may sound a bit wishy washy but these sort of questions are what make the difference between someone growing using social media and someone simply wasting time and energy.
Hope this helps. Feel free to drop me a mail if oyu have any other Q's
