I'm interested in buying or finding "free" Email marketing software can anyone
recommend a good software package that is easy to use and follow.

i've used phplist in the past. it's fairly straightforward & even somewhat flexible.
i would say though: you'd be much better off using mailchimp. it does cost, but the costs are tiny & it will save you hours/days of needless headaches.

I am using AJ Email Marketer and it is the best email marketing software.

As a desktop application you can use Group Mail Plus, as a web based solution you can use PHPlist which runs on linux servers. They are both good. We used PHPlist for 250.000 e-mails and it worked great.

Hope that helps

I would say Mailchimp is the best option. Costs a little and the features are great.

Constant Contact is good. MailChimp is a little easier to use, free for small mailings (under 500 emails, less than 3000 emails/month) and discounted for non-profits. There is one issue with MailChimp where they don't allow prospecting so no purchased lists can be used with their system.
The big win for both of these options is the fact that they're hosted services so you simply create an account and go. The problem with software is that it may be free but there is quite a bit of time to install and maintain not to mention the exposure your org will face if the emails that get sent through your mail servers get marked as spam by ISPs. It could get your corporate emails blacklisted.

I could sell you a proven software I have used for years. It's simply great. Fully licenced with HTML abilities, tracking and inbuilt database capacity of millions.
