I've just found out that an email marketing platform we are using has been blacklisted (dotm1.net ?). We've had trouble for a couple of weeks with some of our email marked as 'spam' and returned...
Any thoughts and ideas?
Who would be the right person to contact within a company (our email provider), do they generally have a "spam and blacklist tsar" ?
Thanks.

Hi,
You appear to be using dotMailer as your email service provider. If dotMailer are being blocked then you should indeed contact them via your normal support channels with them and I'm sure they will route you to the right person who can help. They will have someone who understand deliverability issues to get this resolved,
Kind regards,
Tim.

Hi,
I would agree with Tim - i'm sure if you contact dotMailer they will have a Deliverability Team who would look into and resolve this.
Normally it is the IP address or in the worst cases the IP range that have been blacklisted rather than the company or platform that sends the messages. If you are using a dedicated IP address the blacklisting will be as a result of your own specific activity rather than what dotMailer or anyone else has done. There are a number of areas that you can consider within your own business in order to improve your email deliverability in the future:-
Essentially these are all areas that as email marketers we can control to help improve our own email delivery.
Kind Regards

ns0.dns.dotmailer.co.uk did not respond with MX records for 'dotm1.net'
Shame - if you could get the IP address you could check yourself whether the domain/IP is in fact blacklisted. If it is true and they are blacklisted, I hope DM's people are on the case because this is very bad news for clients.

Hi Timur,
dotm1.net is one of our many tracking domains. It's the tracking domain which allows us to determine who has opened or clicked a dotMailer campaign.
I suspect that we were temporarily listed on a SURBL or Spam URI Realtime block Lists. SURBL works by listing the links found within email rather than the IP address used to send the email. dotm1.net doesn't have an MX record because we don't use it to send or receive mail.
At dotMailer we minimise the potential for beign listed by periodically cycling through different tracking domains. We also encourage custoemrs to supply their own domain (custom from) to avoid any issues that may arise from other account holders.
If you would like to contact myself or the Support Team we will be more than happy to talk this through with you and investigate further into your account to improve your deliverability.
Hope to hear from you soon
Regards
Eleanor
